Description
We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team in Mentor, Ohio. This role requires an individual with strong attention to detail to handle full-cycle payroll processing and benefits administration for a mid-sized workforce. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with tax laws, manage employee benefits, and contribute to process improvements. The ideal candidate comes with 5+ years of full payroll processing experience, strong organizational skills, and has done payroll for 1000+ employees.
This is a direct hire position with standard business hours. It is an in office role.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for approximately 800+ employees across multiple payrolls on a bi-weekly basis.
• Collaborate with HR to incorporate employee data changes and ensure accuracy in payroll submissions.
• Generate and review payroll reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Manage employee benefits, including uploading changes and coordinating with third-party providers.
• Serve as the primary contact for workers’ compensation audits and related inquiries.
• Perform year-end activities, such as processing bonuses, commissions, and tax compliance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all labor and tax regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll and benefits operations.
• Prepare detailed reports for management and provide insights as needed.

Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and payroll tools.
• Strong understanding of benefits administration, including 401(k) plans.
• Familiarity with labor and tax laws to ensure compliance.
• Experience managing workers’ compensation audits and related processes.
• Ability to handle year-end payroll activities, including tax filings and bonus processing.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with HR, management, and third-party providers.
