Job Tittle: DB2 LUW DBA (ONSITE)

Work Location: Denver, CO

Job Summary

We are seeking an expert Infra. Architect with 10 to 12 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IBM Cloudant DB Sybase DB Administration and IBM DB2 LUW DB Admin. This role requires domain knowledge in Cards & Payments and will operate in a onsite work model with day shifts. No travel is required.

Responsibilities

+ Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions to support the organizations' database needs.

+ Be responsible for the administration and maintenance of IBM Cloudant DB ensuring efficient performance and reliability.

+ Provide expert-level support for Sybase DB Administration addressing any issues that arise promptly.

+ Handle IBM DB2 LUW DB Admin tasks including installation configuration and performance tuning.

+ Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure flawless integration of database systems with other IT infrastructure.

+ Develop and carry out standard processes for database security backup and recovery procedures.

+ Monitor database performance and implement vital optimizations to improve efficiency.

+ Lead efforts to migrate and upgrade database systems as needed ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members encouraging a culture of continuous learning.

+ Conduct regular audits and assessments of database systems to identify and mitigate potential risks.

+ Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the organizations database infrastructure remains innovative.

+ Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.

+ Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies related to data management.

+ Communicate project status, risks, and issues to customers and senior management.

+ Ensure all projects implement to company standards and best practices.

+ Facilitate project meetings and provide periodic updates to team members and customers.

+ Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts in a timely manner.

+ Mentor and guide project team members to improve their skills and performance.

+ Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of project activities and outcomes.

+ Apply project management tools and techniques to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness. Setup, Managing and Supporting DB2 QReplication is Mandatory. Expertise on Db2 Upgrade & Migration.

Qualifications

+ Must have extensive experience with IBM Cloudant DB demonstrating the ability to handle and optimize its performance.

+ Should possess solid skills in Sybase DB Administration with a consistent record of maintaining high availability and reliability.

+ Must be proficient in IBM DB2 LUW DB Admin including tasks such as installation configuration and performance tuning.

+ Should have domain expertise in Cards & Payments understanding the unique challenges and requirements of this industry.

+ Nice to have experience with other database technologies and tools enhancing the overall versatility of the candidate.

+ Must have excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve sophisticated database issues.

+ Should be able to work efficiently in a hybrid work model demonstrating good communication and partnership skills.

+ Must be diligent ensuring accuracy and consistency in all database-related tasks.

+ Should have a proactive approach to learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

+ Must be able to work independently handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

+ Should have good interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

+ Must be committed to maintaining high standards of data security and integrity.

Certifications Required

IBM Certified Database Administrator Sybase Certified Professional IBM DB2 LUW Certification

Salary and Other Compensation

Applications will be accepted until May/6/2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $49,001 to $107,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
