Description

We are looking for a meticulous Tax Staff member to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in preparing and managing various tax filings, ensuring compliance with current tax laws, and supporting clients with their accounting and tax needs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in tax preparation, auditing, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns under the guidance of senior accountants.

• Develop detailed work papers and analyses to support income tax preparation.

• File quarterly payroll and sales tax returns accurately and on time.

• Calculate and file quarterly estimated tax payments for clients.

• Assist in tax audits by gathering necessary documentation and supporting the resolution of any issues.

• Conduct tax research to interpret regulations and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

• Collaborate with clients to address their accounting and tax-related needs effectively.

• Reconcile accounts, analyze general ledger data, and resolve discrepancies as needed.

• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, reports, and accompanying footnotes.

• Support month-end closing processes by assisting with reconciliations and other accounting tasks.

Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in tax preparation or a related field.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as CaseWare and CCH ProSystem Fx.

• Familiarity with tools like CCH IntelliConnect for tax research and compliance.

• Strong understanding of accounting functions, including financial statement preparation and analysis.

• Knowledge of auditing practices and procedures.

• Experience with payroll, sales tax, and estimated tax filings.

• Ability to research and interpret tax regulations effectively.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills for collaboration with clients and team members.
