Description
We are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor with a specialization in the Oil and Gas industry to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and overseeing the joint interest billing audit processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial and operational goals. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in oil and gas accounting and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and coordinate the audit process, including scheduling audits, preparing joint interest billings (JIBs), and ensuring all necessary documentation is available.
• Address and respond to auditors' information requests and audit reports in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with engineers and accounting staff to provide accurate data and ensure audit adjustments are appropriately recorded.
• Prepare and review daily drilling reports and perform reconciliations related to well operations.
• Conduct thorough research on organizational matters and work with accounting teams to implement process improvements.
• Assist in executing various accounting-related special projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency.
• Ensure that all financial adjustments and reconciliations are accurately posted in collaboration with accounting personnel.

Requirements
• Accounting degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in oil and gas accounting, with a strong understanding of industry-specific guidelines.
• Proficiency in auditing processes, including audit planning and execution.
• Expertise in joint interest billing (JIB) and joint venture reporting.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and accounting professionals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex financial and operational matters.
• Familiarity with process improvement initiatives and the ability to implement changes effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
