If so, The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for a Student Development Coordinator! This position will be hired as a Student Services Specialist I.
What You'll Do:
+ Assist in the co-curricular development plan for the Academic Program for Excellence (APEX), a leadership and professional development initiative with a collaborative summer bridge program. The coordinator will do this by providing support services, programs, and initiatives to increase and maintain the office’s engagement with APEX students beyond the summer bridge portion of the program.
+ Serve as liaison between MSA (Multicultural Student Affairs) and academic colleges partners (student services staff and faculty) for coordination of initiatives during academic year for APEX.
+ Work with non-academic campus partners and business partners to further develop and enhance the APEX student development experience throughout the academic year.
+ Track, evaluate, and respond to APEX student retention, persistence, and graduation data.
+ Work collaboratively with the Student Experience and Success Coordinator to sequence and implement the co-curricular approach for MSA.
+ Serves as an active member on a variety of divisional committees charged with promoting student success and belonging.
+ Support instruction of one section of UST 2050 and UST 1060 for the George Washington Carver Scholastic Leadership Scholarship Program.
+ May provide guidance to graduate and undergraduate student staff, specifically the APEX Graduate Assistant and CSL Peer Educators.
+ Provide support on escalated concerns from students, families, and the campus community.
+ Support professional development opportunities for Peer Educators and related student staff.
+ Serve as liaison between MSA and college partners in the hiring, training, and supervision of summer live-in APEX student staff.
The successful candidate will be student-centered and have strong relationship-building skills. They will demonstrate flexibility and creativity, coupled with a strong passion for leading students to success.
There will be occasional night and weekend hours in this role.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
