Tax Director Overview:
Our client is actively seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Director to join their expanding accounting team. This position is integral to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the company’s tax filings while providing strategic tax insights and leadership support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
In this high-impact leadership role, the Tax Director will:
+ Oversee all federal and state tax filings managing dozens of federal partnerships and several corporate filings covering operations in a multitude of states annually.
+ Coordinate with external tax preparation partners to ensure timely filings and effectively communicate results with investors.
+ Prepare ASC 740 deferred tax calculations for corporate entities in compliance with accounting standards.
+ Provide tax-related expertise, including the review of financial models, purchase agreements, and ITC eligibility of assets, as well as offering guidance on cost segregation and appraisals.
+ Collaborate with teams across the organization to deliver precise tax forecasting for the company’s development activities.
+ Lead indirect tax activities by managing property tax filings, sales and use tax, and other local tax requirements, all while supporting the finance team in estimating these liabilities during the project development phase.
+ Manage various partnership and local tax returns, ensuring deadlines—especially during the company’s busiest filing periods are met without compromise.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications and Skill Set
+ Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field is required.
+ Certification: An active CPA license is essential.
+ Experience: Minimum of 6 years of hands-on tax experience. Expertise in partnership tax returns, within said industry.
+ Technical Proficiency: Experience with our Accounting software and a strong understanding of ASC 740.
+ Collaborative Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication skills—both verbal and written—and a proven ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
+ Mobility: The role may require a light amount of travel annually.
