Description

We are looking for a skilled Sr. Grant Accountant to join our team on a contract basis, supporting financial operations for a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing grant-related accounting, ensuring compliance with public entity requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires a highly meticulous individual with extensive experience in non-profit accounting and grant management. (This role is on-site one day a week in downtown Los Angeles.)

Responsibilities:

• Complete and update grant templates provided by public entities with precision and accuracy.

• Process grant-related invoices and reconcile them with the general ledger, payroll data, and other supporting documentation.

• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies while ensuring all backup documentation is accurate and complete.

• Verify payroll data from Paylocity aligns with the general ledger, making necessary adjustments as needed.

• Conduct thorough reconciliations and provide detailed tick and tie reports for financial workflows.

• Analyze high volumes of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state requirements.

• Assist in maintaining and improving financial processes related to non-profit payroll and grant accounting.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and reporting standards for public entity grants.

• Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and ensure timely financial reporting.

Requirements • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with complex templates.

• At least 5 years of experience managing and reconciling non-profit grant invoicing and receipts for public entities such as federal and state agencies.

• Strong knowledge of payroll systems, particularly Paylocity, and their integration with general ledger systems.

• Proven ability to handle a high volume of financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

• Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles and compliance standards.

• Expertise in data analysis and identifying financial discrepancies.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet deadlines.
