Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Jericho, New York. This Contract-to-hire position offers an opportunity to contribute to a booming organization by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll systems and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal regulations.

• Maintain and update payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions, and benefits.

• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, ensuring timely and accurate responses.

• Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile payroll data and ensure financial accuracy.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

• Generate reports and summaries related to payroll activities for management review.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data to maintain accuracy and reliability.

• Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in payroll processing within a detail-oriented setting.

• Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies effectively.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
