Description We are looking for a skilled Financial/Accounting Analyst III to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, electronic billing, and legal cost center operations within the oil and gas exploration and production industry. Your expertise will support financial reporting, invoice processing, and budgeting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Responsibilities:
• Process checks and wire transfers through S4Hana, ensuring accurate vendor postings.
• Respond to inquiries regarding the status of check and wire requests.
• Track and reconcile credit entries related to check and wire receipts.
• Conduct monthly reviews of legal cost centers and make necessary journal corrections.
• Serve as a backup for the electronic billing process, including onboarding new law firms and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with electronic billing submission guidelines for all e-Billing firms.
• Review and adjust electronic invoices in collaboration with external firms and internal teams.
• Handle vendor refund checks, settlement awards, and vendor credits while maintaining accurate records.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, including outside spend analysis and legal metrics.
• Assist in developing and managing the legal operating budget and outside counsel allocations. Requirements • Proficiency in financial systems such as S4Hana, with strong knowledge of electronic billing processes.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, and financial reporting.
• Strong ability to analyze budgets, perform reconciliations, and prepare financial metrics.
• Familiarity with legal and corporate security processes within a corporate environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing vendor relationships and inquiries.
• Ability to handle ad hoc financial tasks and participate in special projects as needed.
• Demonstrated experience in auditing and maintaining accurate financial records.
