    Type: Non-Exempt

     

    Compensation: $28.00 - $30.00/hour Dependent on Experience

     

    Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

    Tessera Aerospace Manufacturing is currently seeking a Deburr Technician Lead to join our team in Auburn, WA. The Deburr lead will be responsible for training deburr techs on specific specifications reading and understanding engineering, drawings, PCM’s/MYLAR’s, etc. The deburr lead will be able train deburr techs on current and new techniques for deburring high-quality, detailed aerospace parts including the operation/use of hand tools. Must function as a productive, contributing and responsible team member.

    Typical duties include but are not limited to:

    + Ability to understand deburr specifications by customer requirements.

    + Ability to read drawing and PCM’s/MYLAR’s to produce a conforming part.

    + Review planning/engineering work instructions and tooling to verify appropriate work process and quality requirements before starting job.

    + Utilize hand tools and small power tools to safely remove burrs and create edge breaks. Utilize measuring equipment such as gauges, scales, calipers, etc.

    + Hand work operations include final product hand finishing and sanding, flat pattern deburring and tab trimming.

    + Visually Inspect part to ensure part adheres to engineering specifications.

    + Move complete part order to next manufacturing operation or staging area.

    + Perform accurate and timely completion of all job-order documentation and associated paperwork, part counts, tie-in information, etc.

    + Participate in team-based corrective action process to resolve quality/safety issues.

    + Work with team members and others using Lean/Continuous Improvement processes to develop and utilize process improvements that positively impact operations by reducing waste, reducing safety risks and improving quality.

    + Provide input in team activities that encompass quality and manufacturing producibility.

    + Follow all company and work center specific production, administration and safety policies and procedures.

    + Support AS9100 audits and ensure compliance to established standards.

    + May be exposed to loud noises, confined spaces, dust or fumes.

    + Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor.

    + Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

    Qualifications:

    + Ability to use basic hand tools.

    + Ability to apply basic mathematical skills to the work environment (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

    + Understanding of process flows, lead times and lean principles in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.

    + Technical, formal training or trade school education is preferred.

    + Familiarity with ISO9001:2015/AS9100D is preferred.

    + Experience in deburring titanium is required.

    Physical Requirements:

    Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

     

    + Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    + May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

    + Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

    + Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

    Requirements:

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

    + To comply with U.S. government regulations applicable to this position, all applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), or a “protected individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
