JOB SUMMARY: The Adjunct Faculty member will serve as course director and instructor for the LECOM School of Health Services Administration (SHSA) programs as assigned on a part-time basis. Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum development, review and on-line distance education delivery in a compliant fashion via LECOM’s Learning Management System (LMS).
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Work under the leadership of the Dean, Program Directors and in cooperation with other faculty and support staff;
+ Actively developing and implementing the curriculum, and overseeing all academic administrative duties;
+ Develop objectives and outcome measures to assess student performance per regional accreditation requirements;
+ Continuous review of current literature and industry research pertaining to curricular programs
+ Evaluation and assessment processes for students;
+ Helps in the design and definition of the curriculum
+ Responsible for student guidance, mentoring, and counseling;
+ Comply with Higher Education Policy Commission requirements;
+ Teaches and facilitates as requested by LECOM leadership;
+ Create presentations and deliver lectures via the LECOM CANVAS LMS, ZOOM video conferencing and other related technologies;
+ Serve as a faculty mentor for students in a variety of related issues (i.e. Remediation of students, etc.);
+ Review of courses and offer suggestions for improvement;
+ Faculty member will contribute and be responsible for overall student success, including, but not limited to, advising and student outcomes;
+ Faculty member will contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
+ Faculty member will participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;
+ Faculty member will commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and
+ Must be able to take direction and receive assignments from the Dean and other LECOM designated leadership.

Minimum Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS : Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
+ Strong leadership skills with experience with strategic planning, systems improvement, budgets, effective management, and a background in health policy;
+ Industry Credible Knowledge covering the breadth of the program course content and concepts
+ Understanding of osteopathic principles and practices;
+ Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols, at the practice level.
+ Knowledge of patient’s (“HIPAA”) and student’s (“FERPA”) privacy;
+ Follow proper OSHA and safety guidelines;
+ Strong communications skills are essential as well as computer literacy (MS Office Suite [i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel]) and accurate data entry skills;
+ Excellent organizational skills;
+ Must be accurate and attentive to detail;
+ Must be trained and certified on the LECOM’s Learning Management System (LMS) platform;
+ Maintaining an established work schedule;
+ Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy;
+ Effectively using organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and follow-through;
+ Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands;
+ Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials;
+ Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships;
+ Be able to be flexible to accept other duties needed/assigned for the course needs;
+ The ability to work cooperatively and collegially with others, consistent with a workplace of dignity and respect and EEO rules and regulations;
+ The ability to devote attention and energy to the important work of LECOM; and
+ The ability to accept work directives from managers and supervisors in a respectful, professional, and cooperative manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to: an earned Doctorate or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a healthcare business related discipline areas such as but limited to; Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Pharm.D., D.O. or M.D. with a Master’s in Business or Health Services Administration, a minimum of three (5) years of experience in graduate education or healthcare industry administration.
