PLANNER/SCHEDULER- Algona Iowa
Work schedule will be Monday-Friday, 0700-1530, including overtime and weekends as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Plant Engineering Technician works closely with all plant engineering personnel in support of improved equipment and process reliability as well as efficient and cost-effective use of plant resources.
The person in this position:
+ Acts as the principal contact person between the maintenance department and the plant departments requesting maintenance work.
+ Receives all non-emergency, non-rush work orders from the requesting departments of the areas to which he/she is assigned in order to:
+ Assure that work requested is needed and is the best solution.
+ Examines jobs to be done, determines scope and materials needed, identifies the best way to accomplish the work, and develops detailed job plan. Consults with requester, maintenance supervisor and/or craftsman when necessary.
+ Estimates cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials, outside services, and total cost.
+ Maintains backlog of work orders not yet planned, routing for approval, awaiting parts, and ready to schedule.
+ Develops a maintenance work schedule for the maintenance supervisor with input from the entire scheduling group.
+ Schedules and conducts daily and weekly meetings with his/her assigned scheduling group.
+ Makes recommendations for improvements to work planning and scheduling process.
+ Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
+ A strong pattern of initiative.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills.
+ Good problem-solving, decision-making skills.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ The ability to learn and effectively use various software programs including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, the company’s EAM system, and Outlook
Preferred
+ Minimum two-year degree in Engineering Technology and/or minimum of four years’ work experience as an Engineering Technician and/or minimum of 5 years' work experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Electrician.
+ Ability to use measurement equipment (calipers, flowmeters, etc.).
+ Ability to use advanced condition monitoring equipment (vibration analyzer, infrared camera, etc.) in an industrial environment. A solid background in mechanical and electrical systems as well as training in maintenance reliability theory.
