Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $21 - $23 per hour
$300 Sign-on Bonus After Completion of the 90-day Probationary Period
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Security Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all customers, visitors and employees by monitoring premises for suspicious activities and reporting activities and incidents. The Security Associate will also be responsible for protecting the company's property and assets. The Security Associate, when applicable will also be responsible to fill-in any vacant shifts, Emergency Shifts, and Travel to any of our sites on-call in-place of their assigned shift.

1. Patrolling the Facility for Safety and Security
+ As a vigilant and proactive team member, you patrol both the internal and external areas of the facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone on site. This includes identifying and reporting any at-risk behaviors, potential hazards, rule violations, or issues with life safety and security equipment. Your constant presence ensures that the facility remains safe, secure, and compliant with all safety protocols.
2. Staying Vigilant and Alert at All Times
+ Your role requires an unwavering commitment to vigilance. Remaining alert and focused at all times allows you to spot any issues before they become problems, whether it’s a potential security threat or a safety hazard. By staying constantly aware of your surroundings, you play an essential role in maintaining the facility’s safety and security.
3. Being Flexible and Accommodating to Department Needs
+ Flexibility is key in your role, as you adapt to the department's scheduling needs, including filling vacant shifts as required. This adaptability ensures the department is always covered, regardless of scheduling changes or staffing gaps. Your willingness to step in and help ensures smooth operations and uninterrupted service.
4. Securing Premises and Personnel for Maximum Safety
+ Part of your responsibility is to assist in securing the premises and personnel. This involves regularly walking the property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and inspecting buildings, bags, equipment, and access points. You also manage entry permissions to ensure that only authorized individuals gain access to the facility, maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone.
5. Documenting Incidents Thoroughly and Accurately
+ Accurate reporting is essential in your role. You’re responsible for documenting all incidents that occur during your shift, ensuring that every detail is recorded. These reports provide a clear, organized record of events, which is crucial for incident tracking, follow-up actions, and maintaining a history of security-related situations.
6. Responding Quickly and Effectively to Emergencies
+ In emergency situations, you’re trained to respond quickly and confidently. Whether it’s administering CPR or using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), your readiness to act in a crisis ensures that immediate care is provided, potentially saving lives and preventing further harm.
7. Maintaining a Safe Environment with Ongoing Monitoring
+ Your ongoing commitment to safety is demonstrated through your continuous monitoring of building and equipment controls. By regularly inspecting these systems, you help maintain a safe environment for everyone, ensuring that all safety mechanisms are functioning properly and efficiently.
8. Completing Assigned Tracker Tasks Diligently
+ You are entrusted with completing tracker tasks assigned by the Manager, Supervisor, Lead, or Senior Management. These tasks are vital for keeping operations on track, and your thoroughness and attention to detail ensure that each task is completed on time and to the required standard, contributing to the overall success of the department.
9. Operating and Understanding Life Safety Systems
+ Your role involves operating and having in-depth knowledge of the building's life safety systems, which include critical systems such as fire alarms, fire suppression equipment, emergency exit systems, access control, public announcement systems, and surveillance equipment. Your familiarity with these systems ensures you can respond appropriately to emergencies and keep everyone safe.
10. Preventing Losses and Damages to Company Property
+ You play a key role in preventing losses or damages to company property. By reporting irregularities and ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, you help safeguard the company’s assets. Your proactive approach to addressing violations helps maintain the integrity of the workplace and minimizes the risk of property loss or damage.
11. Adhering to the Rotation and Daily Paperwork Schedules
+ Adherence to the given rotation schedule is important for ensuring smooth operations in the department. Additionally, you’re responsible for completing your daily paperwork accurately and on time, ensuring that records are up-to-date and readily available for review when needed.
12. Committing to a Consistent Schedule for Seamless Operations
+ Consistency in following your assigned schedule ensures that the department runs smoothly day in and day out. Your punctuality and reliability help maintain a seamless workflow, allowing the team to function efficiently and effectively without interruptions.

Supervisory Responsibility
This job will not have any supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse /distribution center environment where the noise level can be loud. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the dues of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 20 pounds as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, typically requiring 40 hours per week. The training schedule is Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Upon completion of training, the regular schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM.
Coverage Requirements:
Security coverage must be maintained 24/7, including holidays. Security Associate is required to stay onsite until properly relieved, and the building must never be left unoccupied.
Emergency Coverage:
Security Associate must be available to cover other shifts when contacted and may be required to remain onsite beyond scheduled hours until a relief Security Associate arrives. At least one Security Associate must be present onsite at all times.
Travel
The Security Associate must have reliable and readily available means of transportation to and from the premises or other locations as assigned, including for emergency coverage or reassignment to alternate sites.
Experience & Skills Required
+ Minimum of HS Diploma or equivalent.
+ 2+ years of previous security guard or related experience in a warehouse or factory environment is required.
+ At least 20 Hours of Unarmed Security Course Certificate of completion.
+ Have an active PERC.
+ Have an active CPR and AED Certification valid for at least 2 years.
+ Valid Driver’s License.
+ Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office experience are required.
Preferred Education and Experience
Military background is a plus.
Work Authorization
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
