Cloud Lake Technology is seeking an Application Developer to join the Cloud Lake Digital Experience Team (CDx) in support of high-profile federal contracts. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications across modern tech stacks. The ideal candidate is a dually skilled front-end and backend developer, committed to delivering performance-driven and visually engaging digital experiences.
This position will work closely with UI/UX designers, product owners, and fellow engineers to create responsive, accessible, and scalable applications that meet modern standards and federal requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain user-facing features using React.js, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and HTML/CSS.
+ Build and maintain WordPress/Drupal websites (themes, templates, plugins).
+ Implement and maintain reusable front-end components and UI libraries.
+ Optimize applications for speed and scalability across devices and browsers.
+ Translate design wireframes into functional code.
+ Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to implement APIs and integrate services.
+ Create and maintain back-end logic using Node.js, Express, and Knex for database operations.
+ Implement security headers using Helmet and enforce linting with ESLint, Prettier, and Husky.
+ Participate in full software development lifecycle including unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and deployment.
+ Maintain code quality and consistency using modern development tools and practices (Git, Composer, Webpack, etc.).
+ Provide escalation support for a 24/7/365 help desk and participate in on-call rotations.
+ Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in front-end and web application development.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ 3–5 years of professional experience in front-end and WordPress development.
+ Strong knowledge of JavaScript, React.js, and modern ES6+ features.
+ Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors like SASS/LESS.
+ Experience creating, editing, and maintaining PHP for WordPress themes and plugins.
+ Familiarity with PowerApps and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem is a plus.
+ Intermediate experience with Git, including command line usage.
+ Experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
+ Familiarity with modern tools: Webpack, Babel, Vite, Composer, Gulp, and Bower.
+ Exposure to AWS Cloud services.
+ Working knowledge of backend frameworks (Node.js, Express) and database tooling (Knex, migrations, seeds).
+ Familiarity with Next.js, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins), and Agile methodologies.
+ Experience with testing frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, or React Testing Library.
+ CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
+ Experience with federal government contracting is a plus.
