Description
Lee County is seeking an organized and proactive administrative professional to support our employee wellness program and general human resources functions. As the Wellness Program/HR Specialist, you will assist in coordinating wellness initiatives, supporting HR administrative activities, ensuring smooth execution of events, and promoting a culture of health, engagement, and well-being within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Program Coordination:
+ Assist in planning and scheduling wellness programs, workshops, and events with direction from Human Resources Leadership.
+ Support logistical aspects of wellness activities, including venue booking, speaker coordination, and participant registration.
+ Maintain calendars and schedules for wellness events and initiatives.
2. Communication & Employee Engagement:
+ Serve as a point of contact for wellness program inquiries, providing helpful information and support to employees.
+ Assist in preparing and distributing wellness communications through emails, newsletters, and internal platforms.
+ Support the promotion of wellness initiatives to increase employee participation and engagement.
3. Data Tracking & Reporting:
+ Track participation and maintain accurate records for wellness events, programs, and initiatives.
+ Assist in gathering and compiling feedback to enhance wellness offerings.
+ Maintain program data, including registration forms, attendance logs, and survey results.
+ Monitor and prepare participation metrics, feedback surveys, and health data trends.
+ Utilize data-driven insights to refine wellness initiatives and report key findings to leadership.
+ Ensure accurate documentation of program outcomes and trends.
4. Administrative Support:
+ Provide general administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and organizing files.
+ Maintain an inventory of wellness-related materials, resources, and supplies.
+ Assist with budgeting and procurement of wellness-related resources as needed.
+ Prepare and maintain HR files and documentation in accordance with records retention policies.
+ Support onboarding activities by preparing materials for new hire orientations, including wellness program information.
5. General Human Resources Support:
+ Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR team across various functions.
+ Assist with maintaining HR databases and systems.
+ Support the coordination of employee initiatives and assist in planning HR events.
+ Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and available wellness resources.
+ Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive HR data.
6. Program Enhancement & Research:
+ Stay informed about wellness trends and HR best practices to support program improvement and enhancement.
+ Assist in researching new wellness and HR initiatives and making recommendations for program and policy development.
+ Assist in identifying deficiencies and gaps in wellness programs and HR processes and suggest improvements.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
+ At least two years of experience in an administrative or support role, preferably in wellness, HR, or employee programs.
+ Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and objectives.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic data management tools.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
+ High attention to detail and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health science, human resources, or a related field.
+ Experience in event planning, wellness program coordination, or corporate wellness initiatives.
+ Familiarity with HR systems, wellness tracking tools, employee engagement platforms, or health incentive programs.
+ Knowledge of wellness-related topics, health promotion strategies, HR processes, or workplace wellness best practices.

Lee County employees eligible to participate in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) are required to contribute 3% of each paycheck to FRS. If you have retired from the Florida Retirement Pension plan you will not be eligible for renewed membership in either of the FRS retirement plan options. Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
