Job Title: Press Operator

Job Description

As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating a metal stamping press ranging from 800 ton to 1600 ton. Your duties will include loading steel coils on the press using an overhead crane, setting dies, and changing out tooling. You will interface with the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to run the press and ensure the quality of parts using various measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators. You will be expected to run equipment, handle and load coils, perform first piece runs, produce parts, conduct quality checks, and manage documentation.

Responsibilities

+ Operate metal stamping press ranging from 800 ton to 1600 ton.

+ Load steel coil on press using overhead crane.

+ Set dies and change out tooling.

+ Interface with HMI to run the press.

+ Check quality of parts using measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.

+ Conduct coil handling and loading, first piece runs, production of parts, quality checks, and documentation.

Essential Skills

+ Proven experience as a machine operator, setup, changeover, tooling, CNC, press, and hydraulics.

+ Mechanical aptitude with a strong ability to use measuring tools such as calipers.

+ Experience in machine operation, punch press, inspection, mechanical setups, production, and assembly.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-temperature controlled but clean manufacturing facility with newer equipment. It is semi-noisy due to the stamping presses running 24/7, but ear protection and safety glasses are provided. The company is in growth mode, expanding by an additional 28K square feet and adding new machines. Currently, the team is working extra days due to machine downtime, but this is expected to change once new machines are operational. You will earn overtime pay after 40 hours and double time on Sundays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $45760.00/yr.
