Job Title: 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator
Job Description
We are seeking experienced 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operators for our 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role involves setting up and operating a variety of 5 & 3 axis machines, cutters, and work holding tools to produce precision parts. You will be responsible for reading and understanding the function of precision instruments to verify product conformance.
Responsibilities
+ Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and portable CMM or FARO.
+ Machine parts to specifications using 5 & 3 axis machines.
+ Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.
+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per set up documentation.
+ Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to customer specifications using precision instruments.
+ Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
+ Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
+ Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.
+ Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
+ Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
+ Confirm with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel to verify technical information.
+ Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair customer products.
+ Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
+ Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
+ Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability per Kaizen process.

Work Environment
Our work environment includes a machine shop and sub-assemblies for aerospace, military, and other advanced technology projects. The 2nd shift operates from Monday to Thursday, 4:15 pm to 2:45 am, and the 3rd shift operates from Friday to Sunday, 4 am to 4:30 pm. Employees who work all three full days on the 3rd shift receive an extra 4 hours as comp time. All new employees undergo 6-8 weeks of training before moving to their designated shift to ensure they are well-acquainted with our processes.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
