Overview
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Gift Processor is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the development donor database and for coding, recording and processing all types of cash and non-cash charitable donations received by The Salvation Army in Northeast Ohio. The Processor’s primary area of responsibility lies in accurate, timely gift entry, gift acknowledgment, reporting, and timely entry of one-off gift entry. In conjunction with this responsibility, the Gift Processor is also responsible for creating and updating donor geographic & demographical information in the database
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ File maintenance of all donor records in the Salesforce database. This includes address and name change, flagging Planned Giving and Major Donors, adding caseloads, merges, and increasing or decreasing the amount of mail the donor receives.
+ Enter all donations received from the following constituents:
+ United Way donors
+ White mail donors
+ Disasters donors
+ Special event donors
+ Foundations
+ Telemarketing
+ Major Gift donors
+ Energy Share and any other utility assistance donors
+ Goal of 125-150 donations and updates should be entered daily as needed.
+ Process credit card donations.
+ Daily review of all correspondence that comes with or on the direct mail remits. Route correspondence directly to Corps Officers and/or designated Development staff member.
+ Manage Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) program – enter data into spreadsheet to prepare for Territorial Headquarters upload.
+ Handle donor information and donor calls that come into Divisional Headquarters.
+ Enter any Matching gifts that come to DHQ.
+ Receive prayer requests weekly from remittance database and forward them to the Corps Officers.
+ Address all email/phone calls in a timely manner.
+ Create, run, and distribute reports to Corps Officers. Such reports include lockbox, memorial, tribute, DAF, etc.
+ The Gift Processor will be instrumental by making phone calls/sending notes to our donors.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
+ OTHER DUTIES – Assume other responsibilities as directed by the Director of Development and/or the Divisional Secretary.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
+ Associate Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
+ Minimum 3 years gift processing or fundraising administrative support experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
+ Proficient in Salesforce and Microsoft Office.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of database management and gift entry.
+ Interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Strong computer and analytical skills are required along with excellent writing skills.
+ A commitment to The Salvation Army mission and programs.
+ Results-oriented with demonstrated ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
+ Collaborative and energetic team player.
