Job Title: Controls Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Technician to oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS), specifically Delta systems, on construction projects. The Controls Technician will lead a team of on-site technicians to ensure all control systems are properly integrated, functioning according to specifications, and ready for handover to the client. This role includes thorough documentation and quality control throughout the process.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate and supervise installation sub-contractors' schedules and scope of work to ensure successful completion.
+ Develop and execute detailed commissioning plans, including functional testing, sequence of operations, point-to-point verification, and system calibration for BMS systems.
+ Lead on-site commissioning activities, including wiring, termination, point-to-point verification, and system integration with other building systems such as HVAC, lighting, and security.
+ Interpret blueprints and other technical documents and explain them to on-site Controls Technicians.
+ Provide day-to-day technical coaching and support to on-site Controls Technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and ensuring efficient project execution.
+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and customers to address concerns, clarify requirements, and facilitate smooth project completion.
+ Identify and resolve technical issues with BMS systems, including hardware malfunctions, software errors, and communication problems.
+ Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports, including test results, deviations, corrective actions, and system documentation for handover.
+ Provide technical support and basic training to customers.
+ Schedule weekly check-ins with the Project Manager for project completion status in DivPro and manpower updates.
+ Submit parts orders in DivPro for miscellaneous parts.
+ Review and submit QA/QC documents to the Project Manager for final review.
+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all operations.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in installing, configuring, and commissioning BMS systems (Delta).
+ In-depth knowledge of BMS protocols, hardware, software, and programming languages.
+ Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and coach more junior team members.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians, delegate tasks effectively, and manage project timelines.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with project managers, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders.
+ Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting, inspection, electrical, low voltage, automation, PLC programming, hand tools, fire alarms, pneumatics, data cable management, wire pulling, and PLC troubleshooting.

Work Environment
This role involves working at a new construction data center job site. Travel with per diem is required within Texas and Arizona.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmers Branch, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
