Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are looking for an experienced **Maintenance Machinist/Technician** to join our established maintenance team. In this role you will work to conduct preventative maintenance and repair equipment within the facility. You may work on metal die casting machines, plastic molding machines, CNC machines, HVAC, plumbing and more. This position will support the the swing shift with a schedule of 3pm-11:30pm. There maybe a training period on the day shift from 7am-3:30pm.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Perform journeyman level work in at least one specialty area of the skilled crafts trade such as electrical, fabrication, machining, hydraulics/pneumatics, HVAC, or production machinery repair.
+ Maintains, adjusts, trouble shoots, repairs, and installs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, HVAC, and all other equipment in the facility.
+ Maintain, adjust, and repairs production fixtures.
+ Wire and maintain electrical systems of plastics molds.
+ Performs safety inspection of fire sprinkler system.
+ Maintain and repair fire sprinkler systems.
+ Perform building remodeling and maintain and repair building.
+ Perform safety checks of compressed air system and gas heating system.
+ Operates and repairs a variety of forklifts, scissor lift, and aerial lift.
+ Sets up and operates the full range of shop equipment and machines of each trade and working to close tolerances and uses appropriate standard and specialized measuring and testing instruments.
+ Assists other maintenance personnel.
+ Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.
+ Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
+ Sweep and clean up work area and equipment.
+ Reports consistently to work and is on time. Able to work an eight-hour shift.
Desired Skills, Training and Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
+ 2-4 years journeyman maintenance experience, including industrial experience in electrical maintenance and repair, or the equivalent, required
+ Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrical License, or greater, preferred
+ EPA Universal Technician Certification (refrigeration) preferred
+ Knowledge of PLC systems and ability to program PLCs, Preferred
+ Knowledge of CNC systems
+ Ability to obtain a Forklift License and an aerial work platform (scissor/boom) license
+ Physical ability to bend, lift, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl throughout the work shift

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold and heat and wet or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Proper footwear, safety glasses and hearing protection are required.
