Description
HDR is seeking a Jr. - Mid Level Distribution Designer/Engineers for Utility scale projects focused on Distribution in their Austin office. This candidate will add to HDR's Distribution Team support Austin Energy projects mostly consisting of but not limited to overhead and sometimes duct banks. These positions would be in support of Austin Energy and would require some training eventually on AllCalc. Will not be doing a lot of calculations and will be working off standards that Austin Energy will provide them. Most of the time they will also be working with AutoCAD. - Working under the direction of Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s). - Conduct analyses to develop design options, perform modeling and/or calculations, and prepare design sketches and concept drawings. - Work with Designers and CAD Technicians to develop construction drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements. - Assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications. - Typical designs include electrical layout design, cable heating and sizing analysis, overhead and underground structure design, electrical equipment selection and development of bill of materials. Designs must also consider construction requirements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
