Job Title: Project Engineer SupervisorJob Description

The Mechanical/Project Engineering Supervisor will oversee daily operations, manage personnel, and ensure seamless workflow across shifts. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate projects effectively. Each day begins with a meeting to review priorities, followed by discussions with the day shift supervisor to assess shift performance and address upcoming tasks. Responsibilities include communicating assignments to a team of four hourly employees, managing breakdowns, ordering spare parts, overseeing project management using Gantt charts, and tracking ongoing initiatives. Payroll processing, including vacation approvals and denials, is essential. The supervisor will spend approximately two to three hours handling desk work and five to six hours overseeing operations on the floor. At the end of each shift, reviewing daily reports submitted by employees and maintaining communication with the third-shift supervisor is critical.

Responsibilities

+ Participate in team meetings to collect, analyze, and act on issues that arise on the floor.

+ Direct workers engaged in all types of repairs.

+ Develop a strong knowledge of company equipment and programs.

+ Troubleshoot machines such as slitter lines, laser cutters, presses, and overhead cranes.

+ Be involved in continuous improvement projects.

Essential Skills

+ Manufacturing experience.

+ Mechanical troubleshooting experience.

+ Project Management experience.

+ Microsoft Office experience.

+ Leadership experience.

+ Experience working in a union environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with press, cutter, slitter line.

+ Experience working with PLCs.

+ Robotics knowledge.

Work Environment

This is a second shift position (3pm to 11pm) from Monday to Friday, with an expectation to work every third weekend. The facility is the largest coil processor in America, employing over 200 individuals in a 625,000 square foot space that is kept very clean and has a calculated operation flow. Employees will gain experience with high-end automated equipment and work in a world-class facility, encouraging long-term commitment. The facility has been open for 27 years, with many managers having over 20 years of tenure. Two weeks of PTO are offered.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

they will give 2 weeks pto but this can be negotiated. benefits available

This is a fully onsite position in Holt,MI.
