Job Title: Senior System Software Integration Engineer (Contractor)
Job Description
Join a global technology leader in robotic-assisted vascular interventions as a Sr System Software Integration Engineer (Contractor). This role involves installing, configuring, and integrating software on various systems, managing network settings, and ensuring successful design transfer for manufacturing within our advanced endovascular robotics business.
Responsibilities
+ Install and configure software on diverse systems, ensuring integration with hardware and networking components.
+ Perform system rework and maintenance post-software updates, releases, or patches, troubleshooting and resolving integration issues.
+ Support software project management, develop software configuration instructions, SBOM, and manage software test tools for design transfer to manufacturing.
+ Configure and manage network settings for software systems, including IP configuration, network security, and firewall rules.
+ Handle system tasks in both Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows environments, ensuring smooth functionality across platforms.
+ Author test methods and protocols, conduct system validation tests post-installation to ensure stability, functionality, and performance alignment with engineering specifications.
+ Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, electro-mechanical engineers, system integration engineers, and QA teams to support integration and resolve technical issues.
+ Maintain detailed records of installation procedures, configuration changes, and troubleshooting steps.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 7 years of experience in system software integration, medical device or regulatory environment, and design transfer to manufacturing.
+ Proven experience in software installation, system integration, and system rework following software releases.
+ Strong knowledge of networking protocols and network configuration.
+ Expertise in Linux and Windows operating systems.
+ Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
+ Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
+ Knowledge of software version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps).
+ Fundamental engineering skills, including problem-solving, systems analysis, and troubleshooting.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience interacting with mechanical and electrical hardware for integration and testing.
+ Networking protocols for integration.
+ Experience with automation tools for system configuration and software deployment.
+ Requirements management experience could be a bonus.
+ Medical device regulated experience important.
Work Environment
Work onsite four days a week in Newton, MA. The work environment involves cutting-edge neurosurgical robotics technology, emphasizing a collaborative team atmosphere where contractors are valued and integrated into the team. This is a two-year contract with a growing company focused on expansion and innovation.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
