This role plays a pivotal part in supporting global product and equipment development initiatives by completing assigned projects and tasks efficiently. The position requires maintaining orderliness in R&D laboratories, developing organizational systems, and communicating effectively with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain general orderliness of R&D laboratories and storage areas.
+ Develop and maintain small-scale organizational and inventory systems.
+ Communicate clearly with internal and external customers, including equipment service providers.
+ Order, track, and stock supplies.
+ Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
+ Plan lab and equipment utilization, maintaining calendars for resource usage.
+ Ship, receive, and inventory experimental equipment and products.
+ Prep pallets of equipment and products for shipment to donation centers, recycling, disposal companies, and suppliers.
+ Provide administrative support by monitoring instrumentation and lab equipment calibration and maintenance programs, lab files and reports, labeling, coordinating panels and orientation.
+ Set up and execute laboratory testing as needed, developing and reviewing protocols and methods, collecting data from lab testing, dismantling and cleaning up experiments.
+ Stock and track samples, ingredients, small wares, and equipment.
+ Calibrate and utilize instrumentation.
Essential Skills
+ Chemistry, Laboratory, Microbiology, lab equipment, lab testing.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Basic knowledge of scientific principles, food microbiology, engineering.
+ Ability to use laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and organize work.
+ Ability to stand for long lengths of time and lift ~50 lbs, maneuver a heavy pallet jack.
+ Basic equipment troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Laboratory experimentation skills including measurement, reporting, and analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent.
+ Basic Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing knowledge.
+ Equipment experience, manufacturing, or industrial background .
+ 3+ years of experience.
+ Basic skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook.
+ Able to work on-site 5 days a week.
+ Previous warehouse experience or similar role is a plus.
+ Pallet Jack experience is advantageous.
Work Environment
This role is part of a smaller, cross-functional team supporting labs on the first floor of the SSC. While not highly visible, the team is very supportive, handling ad hoc tasks and requests as needed. The environment requires flexibility and the ability to work in ambiguous situations. Technology requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office, Ariba for invoicing, and Smartsheets. The role demands high interaction with other lab techs and offers a central technical position within the organization.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
