Job Title: Mechanical DrafterJob Description
The Mechanical Drafter is responsible for creating technical drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. The role involves creating and modifying 3D designs as needed, ensuring all drawings comply with safety and compliance codes.
Responsibilities
+ Complete layouts, shop drawings, and assign part numbers.
+ Ensure completed drawings adhere to safety and compliance codes.
+ Develop detailed designs and specifications for mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD equipment.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Use and comply with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
+ Understand aspects and impacts of the work area.
+ Identify and report environmental incidents.
+ Comply with environmental and safety regulations.
+ Follow job-specific instructions related to environmental aspects.
Essential Skills
+ Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in mechanical drafting.
+ At least one year of experience as a Mechanical Designer/Drafter detailing drawings for manufacturing using 3D CAD (Inventor preferred).
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Lotus Notes, ERP systems, and PDM Software.
+ Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Experience with AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Inventor (strongly preferred) or Solidworks.
+ Skill in drafting for manufacturing.
+ Proficiency in 3D modeling.
+ Capability to produce detailed and shop drawings.
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or CAD is a plus.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position with no hybrid or remote options. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with a flexible start time between 7am-8am once trained. The role is primarily office-based with occasional collaboration on the manufacturing floor. The environment is fun and dynamic, featuring unique elements such as a slide in the manufacturing area. The Dallas location houses 80 employees within the SkyWays division. Dress code is casual, permitting jeans and polo shirts but excluding shorts, offensive graphics, or ripped clothing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hr.
