Description of Work Unit
Colorado State University( CSU ) is a land-grant institution and is one of the fastest-growing research universities in the country, with annual research expenditures of nearly $400 million and an enrollment of over 33,000 students. TheSystems EngineeringPrograms began in 2008 and offers graduate-level degrees including a Master of Engineering (M.E.), a Master of Science (M.S.), a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), a Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.), and a graduate certification in Systems Engineering Practice. Systems Engineering gained full Department status in 2019. The Systems Engineering courses (and all degrees) are offered face-to-face and by distance delivery, synchronously and asynchronously, and may include lecture, seminar, and other distance education formats. Its culture is to embrace intellectual creativity at all levels, operating under the principles of openness, inclusiveness, and integrity.
The department continues to grow with 36 associated faculty, 8 professional memberships, and a management forum including systems engineering leaders from Woodward, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Northrup Grumman Information Systems, Lockheed Martin, National Renewable Energy Laboratory ( NREL ), United Launch Alliance ( ULA ), Hewlett Packard (HP), Merrick & Company, Ball Aerospace and Technologies, Boeing Company, Western Digital, and more. Position Summary

TheDepartment of Systems Engineering(https://www.engr.colostate.edu/se/) at Colorado State University (Fort Collins campus) invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellowship positions to pursue research in design, optimization, assessment, and/or management of complex engineered systems.
Postdoctoral Fellowswill engage in groundbreaking, multi-disciplinary research in close collaboration with research groups in the Systems Engineering Department and other departments at CSU . Candidates with a demonstrated research background in one or more of the following topics are encouraged to apply:

+ Design optimization, controls, and analytics
+ Situational robotics and awareness

Required Job Qualifications
+ Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or documentation of completion of Ph.D. requirements in a related field by the position start date
+ Relevant research experience in related field
+ Additional required qualifications and salary determined by the specific position to be filled
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Authored or co-authored peer- reviewed manuscripts
+ Experience in multiple research models
+ Evidence of successful student mentoring in research environment
+ Willingness to work in a collaborative environment
+ Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Previous scholarly or industrial experience in the fields of systems engineering
