THE POSITION
Are you eager to start your accounting and auditing career? The Office of Comptroller Operations is seeking an Executive Accounting Specialist Trainee to join our team in this entry level position. Our office is supportive of career growth opportunities and candidates in this job title may be promoted into an Executive Accounting Specialist upon successful completion of a probationary period and at least one year as an Executive Accounting Specialist Trainee. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will play a significant role in processing and reviewing sub-recipients' single audit reporting packages within the Sub-recipient Single Audit Desk Review Unit. You will be responsible for ensuring that work is completed in accordance with all applicable laws and requirements. Your duties will include supporting grant management and oversight tasks related to the identification of available federal funding opportunities, monitoring currently authorized federal grant dollars to ensure the Commonwealth is maximizing the spending of authorized grant dollars, and performing supporting tasks to assist Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) reporting package preparers if needed. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ A bachelor’s degree in accounting;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 24 college credits in accounting.
+ Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
