    Job Summary

    Responsible for generating accurate sales forecast information which will ensure the creation of appropriate purchase orders or transmission of appropriate information to the suppliers. Responsible for item sales forecasting and making appropriate forecast adjustments as required. Generate recommendations to Purchasing Manager of customer dedicated additional safety stock. Responsible for managing a defined set of vendor lines managed across all DC’s in the region. Manage item level SKU replenishment process and all attribute related changes and responds to issues. Collaborates with Purchasing Coordinators on stock/ non-stock decisions. Approves purchase orders for respective vendor lines.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Reviews and modifies demand forecasts for inventory items using purchasing systems and reporting tools.

    + Responsible for managing all vendor lines across the region to include incentive programs, vendor minimums, ordering days, item ordering requirements, and others as required.

    + Reviews overselling/underselling SKUs on a weekly basis. Makes adjustments to forecasts as necessary.

    + Manages the “at risk” SKU process. Requirements include running the reports on a regular basis, making adjustments to sales forecasts, partnering with the purchasing specialist to expedite needed product, review/revise ordering attributes as needed.

    + Manages item change process to include deletions, sub-rules and unit of measure changes. Ensures purchasing systems remain in alignment with item attributes.

    + Collaborates with Purchasing Coordinators on stock/ non-stock decisions. Creates and approves purchase orders for respective vendors and ensure orders are transmitted/communicated to Suppliers.

    + Initiates/monitors Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT's) in response to critical stock out situations and partial case non-stock orders.

    + Manages DC inventory spend by approving inventory replenishment PO’s across multiple DCs. Annual spend is approximately $55M average.

    + Reviews service level and turns data by Supplier, top service level issue items, and apparent root cause service level reports to identify potential problems and adjust demand forecasts, inventory item ordering rules and Supplier ordering rules as required.

    + Perform additional duties as directed.

    Education & Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    + College graduate or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    + Ability to independently seek issue resolution using strong influencing and follow-up skills

    + PC/Systems skills & knowledge: MS Word, MS Excel, Access, DSS/Business Objects

    + Customer service oriented
