Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Product Development Coordinator is the daily assisting of the Product Development team with tasks that drive forward the innovation process for new and existing products from concept ideation through formula development. The concentration for this position is multi-category, supporting the Colour and Face teams in areas including product organization, product testing, consumer insight, competitive and trend research.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate formula submissions including aesthetics, function, and shade.
• Attend R&D, Packaging, Brand, Vendor and Supplier meetings.
• Coordinate and manage ongoing meetings with department, brand partners and outside vendors.
• Organize program bins, creative color library, and PD area so the teams can easily access samples.
• Work with R&D and Packaging to ensure that samples are prepared for brand presentations, photography needs, market sample distribution.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for new concepts.
• Develop comprehensive product snapshots - focusing on product description, key insights, technologies, desired claims, and testing.
• Identify, edit, and synthesize key trends or product launches for brand distribution.
• Prepare competitive reports or landscapes as necessary.
• Prepare trend mood boards as necessary.
• Assist with creation of product swatching photos and videos to support regional needs.
• Assist in the development and execution of presentations and/or digital content for the department.
• Attend industry relevant conferences/shows and recap key industry trends and product innovations.
• Conduct in-house product tests including recruiting and development of questionnaires.
• Go into stores regularly to keep abreast of innovative marketing and merchandising.
• Analyze competitive market and track customer and beauty blog reviews.
Qualifications
• 4-year college degree
• 1-2 years related experience. Strong sense of fashion, color, and trends
• Highly organized
• Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a high level of detail.
• Able to handle a fast-paced corporate business environment, work well under pressure and problem solve arising issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and proactive approach to challenges
• Skilled in Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
