Job Summary: Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for instructing students with mild to moderate disabilities, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with parents, support staff, and other educators to ensure each student's success.

Responsibilities:

+ Assess students' abilities and learning needs.

+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

+ Adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of students.

+ Monitor and document students' progress.

+ Collaborate with parents, school counselors, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other support staff.

+ Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

+ Utilize engaging activities to teach skills and promote social development.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.

+ Valid Illinois teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.

+ LBS1 Endorsement

+ Experience working with children with special needs.

+ Strong communication and organizational skills.

+ Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

+ Compassionate and empathetic approach to teaching.
