    Description of Job

    The purpose of this position is to provide quality general maintenance, focusing on interior and exterior structural upkeep and repairs to roofing, doors, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, and to provide snow removal assistance. This position may also involve minor furniture and appliance repairs to ensure a well-maintained and functional environment. Additionally, the role includes mentoring STI staff, fostering their development, and managing small projects to ensure successful completion and continuous improvement.

    Duties include:

    A. Work Orders & Preventative Maintenance

     

    Complete assigned work orders and performs all phases of building Preventative Maintenance (PM), under the direct or indirect guidance of supervisor, for the purpose of maintaining equipment and facilities in satisfactory operating condition. This involves providing for systematic inspection, detection, and correction of small inherent failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects. This could include but will not be limited to: drywall repair of walls and/or ceilings (removal of damaged sheetrock, installation of replacement sheetrock taping/mudding, texture to match existing areas); Painting (scraping, priming, finish coat painting walls/ceilings/hand rails, stairs); flooring repair (carpet, both roll good and squares, tile ceramic and vinyl, stair treads, cove base); doors (swing adjustments, closer removal and installation, closer adjustments); hanging boards/pictures, carpentry repair and other exterior building component work orders ranging from roof repairs, siding and gutter repairs to concrete work on all CSM properties.

     

    B. Snow Removal and other duties as assigned by supervisor

     

    Assist with snow removal duties to include hand shoveling snow, properly spreading ice melt, running snow blowers or other equipment as assigned by Supervisor. Assists with other duties as required.

     

    C. Work Accountability

     

    Track time and materials used in completing work orders or PM’s and enter into computerized work order system. Enter description of how work order or PM was completed into computerized work order system. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position, with experience including:

    + Painting skills: Experience with surface preparation, applying various paint types, and ensuring high-quality finishes for both interior and exterior surfaces. -

    + Drywall repair: Proficiency in patching holes, repairing cracks, and seamless texture matching.

    + General Maintenance: Knowledge of basic carpentry and other non-licensed repair tasks.

    OR

    Education and Experience:

    A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years

    Necessary Special Requirements

    A current Colorado Driver's License is required and must be maintained during employment. A copy of your current motor vehicle record (MVR) will be required as a condition of hire. Must be physically able to perform strenuous physical labor including lifting 100 pounds.
