PPD, the clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific, helps biopharmaceutical companies overcome patient enrollment and research site challenges by combining a powerful patient recruiting solution with more than 150 clinical research sites located throughout the world.
We are committed to optimizing each step in the patient journey and delivering best-in-class site performance to bring our customers greater certainty to clinical trial delivery. We have a new opening for a **Manager, Site Community Relations.** In this role, you will manage a team to ensure successful delivery of recruitment objectives and randomization targets through recruitment, engagement and retention of patients at sites.
A Day in the Life:
+ Develop activities and plans to maintain and grow a competitive advantage in patient recruitment, retention and enrollment services, including the delivery of patients to studies and tracking delivery against recruitment milestones.
+ Ensures successful access to patients through all forms of community outreach activities; including General Practitioners and hospital networks and cultivating relationships with Key Opinion leaders in the community.
+ Builds and maintains a strong network of medical partners (referring doctors, pharmacists, specialists) and increases the awareness of PPD and clinical trials.
+ Builds strong network with non-medical partners (Patients advocacy groups, sport groups, social clubs, schools) to strengthen the awareness of clinical trials
+ Maintains knowledge of current enrolling studies, timelines and protocol requirements.
+ Oversees tracking and invoicing of patient leads, compiles reports for tracking purposes.
+ Manages distribution of recruitment materials; flyers, posters, brochures, newsletters.
+ Uses technology in recruitment strategies to secure on-time enrollment
+ Manages staff: including interviewing, job description preparation, professional development, performance management, employee counseling, and separations.
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
+ Previous clinical research experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).
+ 1+ year of leadership responsibility
+ In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
+ Good knowledge of value proposition and marketing strategies for clinical trials
+ Collaboration skills and the ability to work well with all levels within organization
+ Effective written and verbal English communication skills
+ Strong leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills
+ Sound financial acumen and knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and fiscal management
+ Good negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships and influence others
+ Ability to effectively prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple projects under pressure
+ Strong planning, analytical, organizational and project management skills
+ Demonstrated ability to manage outside agencies in order to fulfil project objectives
+ Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite
+ Familiarity with the practices, processes and requirements of clinical monitoring, including solid understanding of relevant regulations e.g. ICH/GCP, FDA guidelines, etc.
+ Strong judgment and decision making skill

Salary Transparency
This is a salaried role that will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Compensation will be initially discussed during the screening period, with actual compensation confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
