    Position Summary

    This is a high-level leadership role within the Global Supply and Trading team, reporting directly to the VP, of Global Supply & Trading. This role has direct oversight of the Commercial Crude Oil Scheduling team located across North America, including Houston, TX; Findlay, OH; Denver, CO; and Calgary, Canada.

     

    The Supply Operations Director is responsible for Directly manage a team of professionals, including 2 Managers, providing strategic guidance, performance development, and operational oversight across multiple locations.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Team Leadership: Manage and guide a team responsible for the end-to-end scheduling of crude oil across multiple transport modes (pipeline, rail, truck, vessel).

    + Inventory Management: Ensure the accurate, timely, and cost-effective movement of crude oil to and from Marathon’s 13 refineries.

    + Cross-functional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (e.g., traders, refinery planners) and external partners (e.g., pipeline companies, producers), ensuring reliable and rateable supply of approximately 3 million barrels per calendar day to Marathon Petroleum’s 13 refineries across North America.

    + Process Optimization: Lead initiatives to improve scheduling efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the accuracy and responsiveness of the crude supply chain.

    + Cultural Leadership: Foster an inclusive, collaborative work environment that emphasizes unity and continuous improvement.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other related discipline required.

    + Experience: Ten (10) years of refining operations and commercial experience required. Extensive background in crude oil logistics or trading operations, with a solid understanding of supply chain dynamics and scheduling systems preferred.

    + Leadership: Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams preferred.

    + Communication: Skilled at building strong internal and external relationships and navigating complex negotiations or logistics challenges.
