    Overview

     

    There are two positions open for the Transport Operations Supervisor Trainee role within the Transport and Rail (T&R) organization. These positions will be in Albuquerque, NM and or Vinvale, CA and will report to the Transportation Operations Area Manager. This position typically lasts 9 –24 months prior to advancing to a permanent location and supervisor role. Prior to advancing to a permanent location and supervisor role depends on development progress and/or full-time opportunity availability. During the training process, emphasis will be placed on developing a working knowledge of transport operations, inter-departmental business activities, and leadership skills. Placement is not guaranteed and will depend on successful interviews for available full-time roles.

     

    This position will require significant travel which could include extended periods of time away from home location. The goal of the Transportation Supervisor Operations Trainee Program is to keep the average travel per month between 25-50%, however travel can be up to 75% in a given month based on backfill assignments or trainee needs. The objective of the Transportation Supervisor Operations Trainee Program is to develop qualified leadership candidates for supervisory and managerial positions within the T&R organization.

    Responsibilities:

    + Directs and coordinates the activities of transport personnel engaged in the loading, transport and offloading of various petroleum and specialty products; compiles and maintains necessary records and reports.

    + Manages the day-to-day activities of company drivers and transports to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of products including light products, ethanol and sulfur.

    + Facilitates the delivery of products in support of the company’s marketing function in a safe and secure manner.

    + Interacts with transport scheduling to coordinate the dispatch of company transport drivers and/or common carriers to marketing outlets, consumer accounts and bulk plants to effect maximum efficiency and savings on deliveries; assist in the shift of transport resources when necessary.

    + Keeps informed on government rules and regulations pertaining to transport of hazardous materials and regulations involving safety and environmental requirements.

    + Initiates initial response to emergencies, such as motor vehicle accidents, involving corporate transport personnel and resources.

    + Manage 24x7 operations often require flexible work schedule, on-call responsibilities and emergency responses.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High School Diploma or GED required.

    + One (1) year of trucking, terminal, logistics and/or oil and gas experience required.

    + You must hold a valid Driver’s License.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    + Leadership experience preferred.

    + Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office.
