The Work You Will Do:
This Computer Operator I position performs professional work under the direction of the Environmental Administrator for the Division of Waste Management Program located in Tallahassee, Florida. The ideal candidate will possess electronic scanning knowledge. In addition, as Computer Operator I, you will be responsible for assisting with data processing, training and providing excellent customer service internal and external. Possess skills and ability to promote sustainability, implementation and efficiency of state and federal laws rules, and regulations.

The Computer Operator I will participate in meetings with the team and provide feedback to ensure the regulated community and federal, state, and local governments needs are being met concerning imaged documents; and assists with other duties as required. The Computer Operator I also works with supervisors to plan and prioritize activities and projects in line with DEP’s strategic objectives and find integrated solutions on a variety of organizational challenges.

Pay:Annual Salary:$33,760.00 - $37,609.68(Commensurate with experience)
Your Specific Responsibilities:
+ Operates peripheral document scanning equipment and maintains quality control of document image files during conversion of paper files to electronic media. Provides and maintains a high degree of accuracy in document scanning, entering data, filing information, and maintaining files and documentation. Conducts data searches and retrieves information from files as required by supervisor.
+ Provides training to all staff members on the use and maintenance of the file system.
+ Approve and Disapprove records in the database.
+ Process Cherwell and Oculus Waste Tickets associated with the monitoring and control of electronic documentation.
+ Performs related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Basic knowledge of electronic filing systems
+ Knowledge of personal computers
+ Knowledge of databases
+ Knowledge of general offices practices
+ Skill in typing or use of keyboard-controlled data input devices
+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
+ Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically, and categorically
+ Ability to communicate effectively
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and work with limited supervision
Required Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Other Job-Related Requirements for this position:
+ Experience using Microsoft Office Products
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of electronic scanning and data entry.
