We are looking for people with experience in Production Planning Management, interested in starting a SWEET career to lead our Production Planning & Inventory Management team at PIM’s Somerset, New Jersey. This position will report to our Director of Plant Operations.
Overview:
The Production Planning & Inventory Manager reports directly to the Director of Plant Operations and is the liaison between market demands and plant operations. The Production Planning & Inventory Manager is responsible for understanding all operating parameters and devising a production plan to meet market demands, while maintaining operational efficiency. Working closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehousing, Project Management, Engineering, Business Unit Leaders and Plant Management, the Planning & Inventory Manager will create a weekly production plan (by asset), taking into consideration market demands, component availability, planned maintenance, labor needs and production throughput. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the locations cycle count program, identifying, researching and correcting inventory errors, monitoring inventory SOP’s, planning/ adjusting raw material delivery schedules based upon demand, Update/monitor SAP Master Data, asset designations, PSA replenishment, creating and training operators on new, existing and evolving processes, oversees and drives the new item setup process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Monitor the long-term and evolving production needs to proactively identify future obstacles and eliminate them.
+ Work closely with Business Unit Leaders on line schedules and labor needs to minimize waste and drive efficiencies
+ Utilize SAP to create, monitor and ensure execution of master production schedule for multiple high speed processing and packaging lines.
+ SAP Experience Required
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
+ Analyze plant production schedule to evaluate and ensure resources required for execution are ready and available.
+ Report food safety and quality issues to Plant Management and SQFP
+ Follow PIM GMP rules
+ Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMP’s
+ Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
+ Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
+ Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
+ Prepares and analyzes production reports
+ Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or similar degree strongly preferred.
+ 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing scheduling and materials planning.
+ Extensive experience with scheduling systems and MRP systems. Strong experience with analysis of sales forecasts.
+ Advanced math and computer skills are required.
+ Willingness to be trained in functions outside of the day-to-day responsibilities of the role.
+ Ability to remain flexible regarding customer needs.
+ Ability to read, write and speak English is required.
