Job Description – Manager, Crew Scheduling
POSITION PURPOSE The Crew Scheduling Manager is responsible for the oversight of daily crew scheduling operations including the supervision of crew schedulers and crew coordinators. This position will monitor monthly crew pairing and crew schedules for compliance of all FAA regulations, union contracts and company policies
.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations, Union Agreements and Company Policies.
Oversees the integrity of the flight schedule by ensuring that all segments/trips have been assigned to a legal and qualified crew.
Partners with Dispatch and other departments to resolve problems that arise during current and/or future scheduling needs. Implements plans to correct operational issues.
Ensures changes to the published schedule are communicated to crewmembers in a timely manner.
Drive improvements in the daily operation through cross-functional problem solving and collaboration with other departments.
Collaborates with the training department to schedule required training events for crew members.
Review marketing changes to ensure operational integrity.
Subject matter expert for all software used by Crew Scheduling that interfaces with scheduling personnel. Work directly with Republic’s IT department and software vendors.
Responsible for revisions to the Crew Scheduling Policies and procedures Manual.
Collaborates with the FAA, DOD and internal Safety department on scheduling and record audits.
Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential associates.
Provide continued onboarding of new hire schedulers.
Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports.
Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff.
Schedule, prepares and maintain the daily schedules for crew schedulers.
Prepare accurate bi-weekly payroll to ensure all associates are paid correctly. Oversees the facilitation of approved curriculum as well as oral and written exams for crew scheduling training.
Foster affable relationships with codeshare partners and participate in quarterly partnering meetings.
Assist Crew Pay department in crew pay audits and resolving crew pay issues.
Provide cross functional working relationships with Flight Operations, Inflight, training and all other operational departments.
Fosters the Company’s Vision, Mission, Culture Statement and Guiding Principles throughout the work environment.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of airline operations federal, state and local rules and regulations.
Strong Microsoft Office application experience.
Able to handle confidential information and use good judgment in handling sensitive situations.
Able to evaluate and troubleshoot problems and make decisions to correct
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Previous supervisory experience.
Experience with scheduling systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
DECISION MAKING
Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight travel.
