• Clinical Assistant Professor, School Psychology

    The Western Kentucky University Psychology Department (www.wku.edu/psychology/) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure eligible appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of August 2025. This appointment will primarily support the school psychology (Ed.S.) program. The area of expertise is open, with a preference for the ability to teach courses within the school psychology program curriculum, particularly those related to applied practice.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses,

    + assisting with cultivating and supervising practicum and internship placements,

    + conducting site visits, as needed,

    + advising undergraduate students,

    + serving on program, department, college, and university committees, and

    + other duties as assigned.

     

    In addition to our NASP-approved specialist in education program, the Department of Psychology has an undergraduate major in psychology, a master's program in clinical psychology, and a PsyD in applied psychology. The Department of Psychology is housed in the collaborative College of Education and Behavioral Sciences which also has programs in teacher education (including special education), counseling, educational leadership and administration, military sciences, and more.

    Job Requirements:

    Applicants must have earned an Ed.S. (or equivalent) degree in school psychology plus hold five years of applied experience or a doctorate in school psychology (or closely related field) by the posted start date. Candidates should hold certification as a school psychologist and/or eligibility for psychology licensure in Kentucky. Applicants are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and clinical supervision.
