Major/Essential Functions:

+ Provides comprehensive care and diagnosis in Pediatric Rheumatology to newborns, children and adolescents

+ Supervises medical students, residents and advanced practice professional in the clinical setting

+ Participates in the education of medical students and residents

+ Conducts research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics

+ Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

+ Demonstrate Professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Board certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics

+ Board Certified in pediatric rheumatology by the American Board of Pediatrics

+ Bilingual (English and Spanish Preferred)

+ Experience in teaching students and residents in Pediatric Rheumatology

+ Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications:

+ M.D/D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree

+ Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Pediatrics Residency Program

+ Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program

+ Full, unrestricted Texas medical license or eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License
