HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
The Gas Design Project Manager (GDPM) works independently on complex and varied assignments/projects utilizing considerable analytical skills, judgment and ingenuity. Possesses strong knowledge in a specialty and/or functional area and operates with substantial latitude. Responsible for the overall project management associated with the design and installation of natural gas facilities and other infrastructure, inclusive of the strategic planning and modeling Synergee of the natural gas transmission and distribution network. May be responsible for assigning and inspecting the work of the Gas Design Technician I and II (GDT I/II).
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
+ Minimum of an Associate Degree in a related field from an accredited college/university Related fields include disciplines such as Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Applied Sciences, or Business Administration.
+ Driver License with a safe driving record.
+ A minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in progressively more complex technical assignments, directly related to the Duties and Responsibilities of this position
+ Demonstrated and sustained above expected performance as a GDT II or equivalent role with another utility with the ability and potential for assuming greater responsibility.
+ Demonstrated strong project leadership, training and communication skills and the ability to lead projects of increasing complexity and diversity.
+ Obtains, demonstrates and maintains adequate level of knowledge regarding natural gas quality issues and industry in general.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Routinely provides project leadership on all levels of new construction and specified internal projects. Manages and prioritizes multiple engineering/construction projects, obtaining the necessary authorization for project expenditures, and effectively identifying and resolving routine to moderately complex issues as they pertain to the project management role.
+ Performs in a leadership role with regards to local department and team development efforts by participating in complex technical/procedural studies and reporting the results to management to implement change.
+ May be required to represent PGS in front of governmental and regulatory agencies such as Permitting bodies and Public Service Commission.
+ Performs system load analysis and makes recommendations as to the most efficient, economical, and reliable solutions to maintain and/or expand the natural gas transmission and distribution system network as part of the strategic system planning while maintaining and preserving its safety and integrity in compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Company codes, standards, and guidelines.
+ Serves as team lead when needed.
+ Mentors less experienced GDT I/II/III
+ Trains other departments on various aspects of processes and procedures.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE?
+ Bachelor’s degree, in a related field from an accredited college/university
+ Florida Underground Utilities Contractor license, and/or Fuel Transmission and Distribution Lines Certificate of Competency. Maintenance of Traffic MOT (ATSSA) certification
+ Minimum of Four (4) years as a GDT III
+ Must successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to quickly redirect focus for changing priorities as needed
WHO WILL BE A PART OF YOUR TEAM?
+ Various departments within the PGS/TEC organization on as a needed basis depending on the
+ resource requirement. Residential and commercial customers, architectural and engineering firms, plumbers, developers, general contractors and all their subcontractors, County and/or Cy officials and staff, Florida Department of Transportation, CSX, EPA, FPSC, and home owner associations.

WHERE AND HOW YOU WILL WORK
+ Work hours consist of a minimum of 8-hours per day Monday through Friday.
+ Some overtime is required to meet customer deadlines and storm response.
+ Working conditions are both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
+ The level of stress is moderate to heavy depending upon the level of interaction with customers and governmental agencies.
+ May be assigned to the Call-Out rotation schedule as an after-hours coordinator for emergency response.
+ Physical demand requirements include working in field conditions, walking in rough terrain, lifting objects up to 50 lbs., and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment in an 8-hour day.

STORM DUTY REQUIREMENTS
TECO Energy and its companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our TECO Energy customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.
