Job Summary:
The Manager of H&S - Fall Protection, Rescue and Compliance will partner to set the strategy, lead, and plan all aspects of Fall Protection and Rescue programs at their regional resort locations. This position will work closely with Health and Safety leadership, resort operations, and corporate leadership to create, build, implement and sustain a Health and Safety culture that achieves world class safety performance. This position will collaborate cross functionally to ensure safety programs are properly vetted, dynamic, on schedule and in compliance with internal or external requirements. Additionally, this position will work and collaborate with external partners, community leaders, and regulators in supporting the resorts as well as the Company’s core value of Be Safe.
Responsibilities:
+ Drive, influence, and support the Company’s Health and Safety strategy to achieve world class Health and Safety performance within the travel and leisure industry.
+ Enhance, improve and scale the fall protection and rescue programs within the company.
+ Serve as a compliance specialist in various needs of the department and business additional to the fall protection and rescue scope such as confined space, machine guarding, electrical, haz-com, etc.
+ Be an unbiased leader and voice for resort leadership so they understand the risks and opportunities to drive, improve, and then maintain superior safety performance.
+ Advise and support the resort GMs/COOs and all operations including but not limited to: Mountain Division, Hospitality and Vail Resorts Retail.
+ Have a deep understanding of the core business needs and in doing so adjust the safety strategy to the business.
+ Use past, current, and predictive safety metrics to inform adjustments/decisions.
+ Proactively address compliance and regulatory safety as well as risk management trends and regulatory focus areas.
+ Engage with local, state and federal officials as necessary to support Health and Safety Compliance and best practices.
+ Communicate across a variety of stakeholders in a matrix environment.
+ Manage and execute projects according to plan within timeline and budget.
+ Identify and develop talent within the operations and on the Health and Safety Team.
+ Other duties or tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
+ Working experience in Health and Safety, Fall Protection, Confined Space or similar
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
+ Proven experience leading a team to achieve objectives and results in a matrixed environment
+ Experience analyzing, and advising on safety data analytics with solutions in mind
+ Experience leading and implementing change, and influencing various stakeholders
+ Experience accomplishing objectives through others
+ Knowledge of various Health and Safety practices
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Professional certification in safety, health or rope rescue e.g. CSP, ASP, SPRAT, etc
+ Bachelor’s degree Preferred
+ Supervisory Experience Preferred
The expected pay range is $69,997.50 - $79,500 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
