Position: Area Controller

Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Strategic business partner to West Area Aspen Grove operations leadership to support financial planning, accounting and reporting needs to achieve business objectives.
+ Compilation of month-end financial reports, and reporting processes including revenue recognition and WIP, cost accounting and allocations, management reporting, inventory management, and forecasting to ensure completed timely and at a high level of accuracy. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
+ Primary point of contact for issues/questions raised by field management and administrative staff for financial systems-related questions.
+ Responsible for all budgeting processes for the West Area. Partner with AVP and company leaders to develop achievable budgets within targeted guidelines. Ensure budgets are entered into the appropriate ERP systems.
+ Subject matter expert with regards to maintenance of ERP or job costing system.Proactively searches for and shares best practices and develops implementation and maintenance strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus
+ 5 or more years of finance and accounting experience (2 or more years in a supervisory role)
+ Preferred – Experience working directly with decentralized field operations.
+ Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
+ Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and formulas for data compilation and analysis.
+ Experience with ERP systems, PeopleSoft and Aspire preferred.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt to audiences with varying levels of financial sophistication.
+ Demonstrated ability to execute/drive a project plan to completion, including influencing others and effectively managing their team and others through change. Able to work a flexible schedule as needed. Ability to work overtime as required during peak periods.
+ A leader who promotes teamwork and collaboration and effectively delegates.
+ Ability to develop a vision of “what could be”, not just focused on “what is/has been”
+ Prior landscape experience is a plus
+ Travel may be required, up to 50%
