HUP Security is looking for a Security Operations Dispatcher to work the 3pm-11pm shift!
Summary:
+ This is a full-time Dispatcher and Call Taker position working in a Communications Center on assigned shifts. The high priority nature of this position requires Dispatchers to work various shifts to maintain hospital and facility operations on a 24 hour, seven (7) day basis. Shifts (day, evenings and nights) to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays as part of the normal everyday operations. A position in this class operates multi-line telephone console system and radio equipment to accurately send and receive messages. Must be able to accurately enter information into Omnigo Dispatch System and assign and dispatch all requests for Police, Fire, Emergency Medical, Security Services, or other services. Responsible for monitoring all access security systems, fire alarm systems, notification systems and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring equipment. Providing appropriate responses to information received and observed. Dispatch and coordinate the responses of public safety agencies. Must be able to ask questions to interpret, analyze the caller's situation as to resolve problems, provide information, dispatch emergency services, or refer the callers to other agencies. The ability to think quickly and work under stressful situations. The position requires notification of serious incidents and pertinent information to various agencies located throughout the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as other facilities related to the Pennsylvania Health System, to outside local municipal, State and Federal agencies. Employees hired for this sensitive position must successfully complete any required certifications/training within their probationary period of six months, an approved CPR certification course and other training course related to the dispatch position. This position reports directly to a Dispatch Supervisor and is considered essential personnel. Responsibilities:
+ Answers calls and dispatches Security Officers in response to calls; maintains accurate Security and Fire Logbooks and other related documents.
+ Monitors alarms and close circuit television system.
+ Decides on a plan of action, summons officers to react and coordinates the efforts of officers while in route to the scene.
+ Records information relating to a particular incident for possible use by investigators later and oversees proper tagging and logging of lost and found items.
+ Reaches out to other agencies if additional help is needed outside a particular department and coordinates response to fire alarms and contacts the Fire Department.
+ Advises individuals on certain actions to take while waiting for help to arrive and communicates with officers at the scene in order to ensure that a situation is fully resolved.
+ Tracks the location of officers that are responding to a particular incident and monitors all system activity within the dispatch office (Cameras, Alarms, etc.)
Credentials:
+ Valid Driver's License (Required)
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (Required)
+ PA Act 235 Certification (Preferred)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
+ At least one year of relevant experience (Required)
+ Bachelor's degree is preferred.
