_The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule_ **_YEAR-ROUND_** _._
Your Responsibilities
As a **Part - Time Student - Labor Relations** for **JD Dubuque Works** located in **Dubuque** , **IA** , you will:
+ Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and preparing onboarding materials.
+ Help with maintaining employee records, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company policies.
+ Participate in employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, events, and recognition programs.
+ Help with conducting research on LR trends, best practices, and new technologies that can enhance LR processes.
+ Provide administrative support to LR staff, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and managing LR databases.
+ Assist in resolving employee inquiries related to LR policies, benefits, and general concerns.
This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need
+ Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly
+ Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly
+ Must be able to commute to the work location in Dubuque, IA, on a daily basis year-round
+ Communication, organization, and time management skills
+ Ability to interpret data and self-direct accordingly
+ Attention to detail
+ Willingness and desire to learn
+ Willingness to identify opportunities and propose solutions
+ Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, Manufacturing Technology/Engineering; others may apply
+ Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. local accredited college/university Graduation date of May 2026 or later
+ Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the key facilities in Deere & Company's Construction and Forestry (C&F) Division. The Dubuque Works manufactures backhoe loaders, crawler dozers, and skid steer loaders for the construction industry and knuckleboom loaders and tracked feller bunchers for the forestry industry. The Dubuque Works also serves as the Center of Excellence for the C&F Division in the areas of Product Engineering, Product Verification and Validation, Supply Management, and Product Support which includes the Dealer Technical Assistance Center. From a manufacturing perspective, the core competencies of the factory include plate and sheet cutting, machining, welding, paint, and assembly.
The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the most innovative and productive facilities of its kind.
