Principal Financial Group is looking for a hard-working **Digital Marketing Analytics Engineer** to join our dynamic Marketing Operations team. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring your analytical skills and technical expertise to empower our marketing community and drive performance!
Responsibilities include:
+ Set up and manage Google Tag Manager (GTM) accounts, including the implementation of various pixels and scripts, goal conversions, event tracking, cross-domain tracking, and tag testing.
+ Troubleshoot and debug GTM issues, ensuring compliance with OneTrust and Consent Mode consent states.
+ Complete tasks related to configuring and maintaining tagging requirements within the consent management platform across multiple brands.
+ Conduct GA4 implementation audits, address data discrepancies, and integrate GA4 with Campaign Manager 360 and other systems.
+ Identify and implement GA4 features and settings to answer critical business questions.
+ Implement Conversions API tracking for social media platforms.
+ Work together with cross-functional teams, including product management, data engineers, analysts, and collaborators, to grasp analytical needs and provide actionable insights.

Who You Are
Who you are
+ Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years of experience in measuring marketing campaigns with a proven track record of success in managing Google Analytics tagging (GA4) and Google Tag Manager configuration.
+ Strong understanding of data layers, tagging, variables, lookup tables, and custom metric setup.
+ Detail-oriented, analytically minded, and able to communicate effectively to stakeholders across greatly varied degrees of technical range.
+ Experience with Google’s advertising suite (Search, Display & Video, and Campaign Manager) preferred.
Job Level
We’ll consider talent at Senior Associate and Strategist levels based on experiences and skills. Minimum relevant experience qualifications for the Senior Associate is 2+ years and 4+ years for the Strategist.
Work Environment:
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$67500 - $128400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
