This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:
+ Will be responsible for verifying elevations, ensuring proper drainage slopes, reading grading plans, and communicating with equipment operators to maintain site specifications
+ Set up and use lasers, GPS, and traditional grade stakes to verify elevations
+ Check grades for rough and final grading to ensure compliance with project plans
+ Perform spot checks during earthwork operations to maintain design grades
+ Assist heavy equipment operators (excavator, dozers, blades, water truck) in maintaining correct slopes and tolerances
+ Mark grade stakes and reference points across the job site
+ Interpret and work from construction drawings, site plans, and specifications
+ Maintain a safe and organized work area
+ Communicate effectively with foremen, superintendents, and equipment operators
+ Perform other duties as needed on the construction site
Qualifications:
+ 2+ years of construction grade checking experience
+ Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and survey stakes
+ Experience using GPS systems, laser levels, and other surveying equipment
+ Must have tools (Laser or GPS rover)
+ Ability to stand, bend, kneel and walk for extended periods throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
+ Reliable transportation to and from job sites
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
+ Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
