Job Description Summary: We’re seeking a Coding Apprentice to support our medical charge entry team at the Hathaway Creative Center in Waterville. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals who are currently studying medical coding or have previous experience with medical terminology or in a medical office setting. In this role, you’ll ensure the accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes, supporting timely and proper reimbursement for patient care services.

Job Description:

What You’ll Do

• Reconcile patient lists, census data, and discharge reports to confirm complete and accurate documentation• Follow up with providers or administrators about missing or incomplete information• Enter CPT and ICD-10 codes into clinical systems based on information received• Review basic documentation for uncomplicated visits in 1–2 outpatient departments to assign codes accurately• Use coding guidelines to assign proper codes and modifiers as needed
