Summary:

Facebook is looking for a Motion Designer to join the Design Language team, supporting the Facebook App. We focus on creating, maintaining, and evolving the visual systems that define our brand in the product including icons, emojis, product illustration, photography, and live action creative.This person will be responsible for leveraging motion to shape and lead design communications across several product initiatives. As an experienced designer, you are skilled at collaborating and providing a creative point of view with art directors, illustrators, content strategists, and product designers to grow and evolve work from a design perspective.

Required Skills:

Motion Designer - Design Language Responsibilities:

1. Execute on communication design across several surfaces, utilizing motion and animation to improve perceived performance and foster expression

2. Seek out creative opportunities to improve on existing style(s) and approaches

3. Create motion-based or animated designs, sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and/or design specs necessary to guide development of useful and consistent experiences based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research

4. Work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with multidisciplinary teams

5. Produce conceptual and expressive communication design that is engaging and reflect a cohesive visual style and tone

6. Inspire your teammates, give and receive feedback, and critique respectfully

7. Meet multiple deadlines, prioritize work, and keep projects moving forward

8. Communicate design direction in addition to being a hands-on designer

Minimum Qualifications:

9. 4+ years of experience in Motion Design

10. A link to an online portfolio showcasing your work (include link on your resume)

11. Experience creating motion-based designs for visual systems as well as creating graphic design elements from illustrations to iconography

12. Experience with visual storytelling that involve motion or animation

13. Knowledge in digital product design

14. Experience creating work for digital surfaces (mobile, web)

15. Portfolio exhibits conceptual skills, composition and color

16. Presentation, interpersonal, and communication experience

17. Knowledge in motion frameworks such as Lottie animation freamework and Keyframes, and design applications, such as Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Sketch

18. Experience with time management, task prioritization, and identifying problems and work towards solutions

19. Demonstrated experience working across many digital platforms with multiple teams, and always be curious and eager to experiment.

20. Demonstrated multi-faceted and innovative problem-solver that has an eye for great innovational work, talent, and a track record of delivering and launching initiatives on time and on strategy.

21. Demonstrated focused experience in Communication Design

Public Compensation:

$94,000/year to $142,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
