The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a versatile Infrastructure Engineer to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS) across a distributed enterprise environment covering locations in the Washington DC Metro Area (DC/MD/VA), Philadelphia, Denver, and Michigan. This role requires significant travel between these sites. You will be responsible for the implementation, deployment, operation, and maintenance of both network and systems infrastructure supporting critical government functions including voice, data, and video services.
Responsibilities:
+ Design, implement, manage, and maintain enterprise network environments including Cisco routers and switches (Multi-Layer, Data Center/Access/Core/Distribution), and Palo Alto firewalls.
+ Administer Windows Server environments (Server 2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management and troubleshooting.
+ Manage and maintain Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments.
+ Support and manage infrastructure components within the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
+ Configure, install, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, and network services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
+ Implement, manage, and report on vulnerability management programs using tools like Nessus, coordinate remediation efforts.
+ Develop, implement, and manage patch management processes for network devices, Windows Servers, and other infrastructure components using tools like WSUS or SCCM.
+ Maximize network and system performance through proactive monitoring, performance analysis, troubleshooting outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating on optimization efforts.
+ Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG) for network and system performance, health checks, and troubleshooting.
+ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), network diagrams, system configurations, IP/Ports/Protocols lists.
+ Work within IT Service Management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), utilizing tools like ServiceNow for incident, change, and request tracking.
+ Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for network and system-related issues.
+ Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure network and system configurations.
+ Analyze IT requirements, concepts of operations, and system architectures to validate requirements and provide recommendations.
+ Advise senior-level customers on infrastructure architecture, optimization, and security best practices.
+ Adhere to network and system standards, security policies, and change management procedures.
+ Stay current with relevant technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
_Required:_
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
+ Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred.
+ BA/BS degree + 8 years of relevant IT infrastructure experience, OR 14 years of relevant IT infrastructure experience without a degree.
+ Proven ability and willingness to travel to designated work locations within DC, Maryland, Virginia, Philadelphia, Denver, and Michigan.
+ Certification Requirement: Must hold at least one of the following certification (CCNP or equivalent, Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent)
+ Demonstrated experience with Cisco routing and switching (IOS/NX-OS) configuration, troubleshooting, and management.
+ Demonstrated experience with firewall configuration, policy management, and troubleshooting.
+ Strong experience in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022).
+ In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
+ Experience administering Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (AHV or other hypervisors).
+ Experience managing resources and services within Microsoft Azure (IaaS, Networking, Identity).
+ Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) and remediation processes.
+ Experience with patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM) and lifecycle management.
+ Experience with network and systems monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
+ Strong troubleshooting methodology for complex network and system issues.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a geographically dispersed team.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with senior customers and team members.
+ Experience gathering technical and business requirements.
_Desired:_
+ CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Security certification.
+ Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or other relevant Microsoft certifications.
+ Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP).
+ Experience with Cisco Software Defined Access (SDA) and DNA Center (DNA-C).
+ Experience with implementing and managing Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) features beyond basic firewalling (e.g., Threat Prevention, WildFire, URL Filtering).
+ Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
+ Deeper experience with Windows Domain architecture and multi-domain/forest environments.
+ Experience with additional cloud platforms (Azure).
+ Previous DHS, DoD, or specifically FPS experience.

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.
The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
