The Digital Print Operator position exists to operate inkjet, laser, xerographic or offset duplicating printers; RIP files or review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing. Maintains daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests. Sets up, programs and releases jobs from print queue. May adjust image position, perforations, and folds on paper. Monitors quality of job output for correctness and image quality. Tracks supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets, and rollers, paper, tabs, and other items as needed for reorder. Maintains inventory levels. This position requires familiarity with routine operating procedures of equipment, which can be set up and operated following a few step-by-step instructions and the skill to operate the equipment. Requires skill to perform minor clerical tasks incidental to the operation of the equipment (e.g., maintain machine operating and maintenance records, write new identification labels for computer tapes, etc.), and skill to perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating the equipment. Ability to identify if improper machine operation and make basic adjustments.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Digital Print/Graphic Designs :
+ Creates projects from copy kits with accuracy and completeness, including all called-for elements
+ Inserts changes and revised copy elements into documents with an eye for detail and correctness
+ Refines and reproduces existing designs for an even better product
+ Completes projects within given time parameters with excellence through entire campaign creative process
+ Operates digital printers and maintains a high QC standard
+ Has knowledge of paper types and handling
+ Lays out existing artwork for printing
+ Adds addresses and IMBs to letters, return devices, etc.
Bindery / Finishing Operator:
+ Operates equipment (folder, cutter, coil binding equipment, saddle stitcher, scorer, inserter, laminator)
Team Responsibilities :
+ Develops ideas and suggestions toward continuous process improvement; takes personal responsibility for quality of the team's results
+ Takes personal responsibility for housekeeping and safety within the team's work area
+ Contributes toward meeting predetermined performance objectives
+ Remains flexible and willing to work anywhere with any team member when there is a need
+ Remains dependable and punctual, has a good attendance record
+ Drive Focus vehicles to transport goods to customers or outsourced vendors
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
+ All In Plant Staff has cross train opportunities and are expected to engage in non-specialized work in other areas. This includes shipping, manufacturing, and take-off any other production machine.
+ Other Duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam
+ Must be able to drive a standard transmission vehicle
+ Noise from various mail/material-handling machines
+ Fumes from forklift exhaust
+ Dust associated with mail and packing materials
+ Lifting and carrying of material up to 50 pounds
+ Must be able to push/pull 50lbs
+ Must be able to stand 6 hours/day and stand 2 hours/day
+ Must be able to bend, crouch, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, and reach above head
+ Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity
+ Must be able to hear alarms/phone/normal speaking voice

Knowledge/Experience:
+ Associate’s Degree in related field
+ 3 years of experience working in digital department and running digital equipment
+ 2 years of experience in variable data programming
+ 2 years of experience prepress software (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite)
+ Extensive knowledge of prepress systems, such as Creative Suite and XMPie, as well as digital press technology
+ Digital press experience should be both operation and maintenance
+ Experience working VDP projects, with ability to program and proof

+ Requires coordination sufficient to operate various manufacturing equipment (inserters, duplicators, scanners, printers, pallet wrappers and others as needed)

Pay Range: $16.00 to $18.25/hr
